It's Not Over Until The Soprano Dies

Um Segundo Filmes carried out the full recording of the feminist opera It's Not Over Until The Soprano Dies, a creation by the company mala voadora. The piece, directed by Jorge Andrade with musical direction by Nuno Côrte-Real, reimagines the endings of classical operas where female characters die, highlighting the repetition of these narratives and questioning the normalization of violence against women in the operatic repertoire.

The production featured the Orquestra Metropolitana de Lisboa and a renowned cast of singers and actors. The recording was made during performances at São Luiz Teatro Municipal and Coliseu Porto Ageas, capturing the emotional intensity and social critique embedded in the work.
